Antoine Bordes (CNRS - UTC) is a CNRS researcher (CR2) at Heudiasyc since 2010. He earned his Ph.D. in computer science and artificial intelligence from the Université Pierre et Marie Curie in 2010, under the direction of Patrick Gallinari at LIP6. Antoine won several awards including best student paper at ICML (2007) and best French Ph.D in artificial intelligence (2010). He is the project coordinator. This project is organized around the main research direction he intends to follow in the future. His competencies in large-scale learning and in Deep Learning will be crucial for the project.
Sébastien Destercke (CNRS - UTC) is a CNRS researcher (CR2) at Heudiasyc since 2011. He is the leader of Task 4, whose topic is in line with his current research interests, i.e., combination of structured information. He is an expert in uncertainty modeling in presence of incomplete or heterogeneous information and in information fusion problems, two instrumental skills in Task 4. He is also familiar with both numerical and symbolic representations of knowledge.
Gérard Govaert (UTC) holds a full Professor position (“classe exceptionelle”) at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne and is a member of the Heudiasyc laboratory. He is the author/coauthor of over 50 reviewed papers and book chapters. He is also coauthor of Mixmod, a GPL multi-platform software for estimation of mixture models, developed in collaboration with INRIA futurs and the University of Besançon (www-math.univ- fcomte.fr/mixmod). His current research interests include co-clustering, block-clustering, mixture of categorical data and model selection.
Yves Grandvalet (CNRS - UTC) is a full researcher at CNRS (DR2) since 1996. He holds a senior researcher position at Compiègne since 2009, and was previously a visiting researcher at the University of Montréal and at the Idiap research institute, in 2002-2003 and 2006-2008 respectively. He is the author/coauthor of over 60 reviewed papers and book chapters. His current interests include feature selection with sparse methods, fitting criteria, performance evaluation, model selection and model-based co-clustering. He has served as a site manager for the FP6/FP7 Networks of Excellence PASCAL and PASCAL2 (2003 – 2008), as an associate coordinator for the FP7 STREP project MASH (2010 – 2012).
Guillaume Bouchard (XRCE) is a Senior Research Scientist at XRCE since 2007. In 2005, he received his PhD in statistics from INRIA Rhône-Alpes and Université Joseph Fourier. His research interests concern probabilistic inference, matrix and tensor factorization, and crowdsourcing platforms.
Nicolas Usunier (UTC) is an Associate Professor at the Université de Technologie de Compiègne since 2012, where he holds the CNRS/UTC Higher Education excellence chair. He obtained his PhD from University Paris VI in 2006, and was Associate Professor at that University between 2007 and 2012. He is the co-author of about 30 reviewed journal and conference papers and is PC member of several journals and international conferences. Several best paper prizes have been awarded to his PhD students in leading conferences on machine learning and recommender systems.
